Bioseco BPS – groundbreaking technology for bird protection on wind farms

Wind project developers are increasingly facing challenges related to bird protection requirements. Similarly to West-European countries, this trend is also present in Poland.

Based on ornithological monitoring, environmental authorities can recommend wind turbine shutdowns, e.g. during bird migration periods, translating into real energy production losses.

To reduce the risk of collisions and minimise the costs associated with shutdowns, Polish company Bioseco has developed technologies for monitoring and protection of birds.

The technology, which has been commercialised for several years, is already in operation at wind farms in
Poland, Germany, France and Spain.

The workshop will present not only Bioseco’s technology itself, but also data showing how its use affects exiting wind farms in operation.
